Murray Hill Attractions

The attractions of Murray Hill can be enjoyed as you stroll around this residential neighborhood conveniently located in midtown Manhattan's east side, just south of Grand Central Terminal. 

Cultural institutions such as The Morgan Library on Madison Avenue between 36th and 37th Street and Scandinavia House on Park Avenue between 37th and 38th Street, offer art exhibits and public programs. The City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center in the old B. Altman Department Store building on 5th Avenue between 34th and 35th Street, and the New York Public Library on 5th Avenue with the main entrance on 41st Street, is also a place to visit for cultural and educational programs.

Sniffen Court, on 36th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenue, is a landmarked mews where carriage houses were located serving the mansions on Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue.

Several other landmark buildings can be seen in the neighborhood, including the Bowdoin Carriage House at 149 East 38th Street, 152 East 38th Street, the De Lamar Mansion at 233 Madison Avenue, and the Church of the Incarnation on Madison Avenue between 35th and 36th Street.
